Dana Williams

For more than 30 years, Dana T. Williams has stood beside clients in the courtroom and at the negotiating table. She founded The Williams Firm, P.C. in 2006 with a simple mission: to serve her community with integrity, compassion, and experience. In 2011, she brought her practice home to Polk County, where she has served the families, landowners, and businesses of East Texas ever since.

Experienced Counsel When It Matters Most

Attorney Williams is a seasoned trial lawyer whose practice covers real estate transactions and disputes, probate and fiduciary matters, criminal defense, personal injury, and general civil litigation. She is also a certified mediator, helping parties resolve conflicts efficiently and without the cost and strain of a trial. For small business owners, she offers practical counsel on forming business entities and on avoiding legal disputes before they start.

A Career Built In The Courtroom

Attorney Williams began her career in 1995 as a trial lawyer for State Farm Insurance Company and Progressive Insurance Company. In 2001, she became a partner in the insurance litigation section of Martin, Disiere, Jefferson & Wisdom in Houston, where she practiced until founding her own firm. The firm currently serves as City Attorney for the City of Livingston, Texas.

Attorney Williams is a proud member of the Texas Bar College, a professional society of legal scholars who are leaders in the Texas legal community and champions of legal education. She was named a Texas Super Lawyer in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Attorney Williams’ service extends to the bench. Since 2015, she has served as Chief Judge of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribal Court, and from 2022 to 2025 she served as Municipal Judge for the City of Livingston. That perspective from both sides of the bench gives her clients a clear view of how cases are actually decided.

Education

A four-year NCAA Division I athlete, Attorney Williams earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Lamar University in 1991 and earned her law degree from South Texas College of Law Houston in 1995. She also completed the Trial Lawyer Certification from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, served as a mentor with the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and served as President of the Polk County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

Professional And Community Involvement

Attorney Williams is a member of the Litigation Section and the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, and she mentors young attorneys entering the profession.

Attorney Williams is committed to high ethical standards and improved training for all legal professionals.

She has served as President of the Board of Directors of Make It Matter, Inc., a global nonprofit, Board President of the North Houston YMCA, and on the Board of Directors of Childrenz Haven, Polk County's children's advocacy center.

Beyond The Office

Attorney Williams has been married to Theron Williams, Jr., for 34 years, and they have two daughters, Sydney and Shelby. She has been a member of Fallbrook Church since 2003. In her spare time, she enjoys mission work, reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
